The FCC certification is a hint of its impending release. Unusual enough, the FCC database has a lot to tell us about the Amazfit Band 5. The certification authority confirms the gear to have an AMOLED panel, 5 ATM water-resistance capability and a heart rate sensor.

As you can see from the product package image of the Amazfit Band 5 spilt by FCC, its model number is A1931. The Band 5 offers “Connected GPS” feature by which it can tether a GPS connection from a smartphone for accurate positioning.

Additionally, the Amazfit Band 5 will have a 125 mAh battery and supports smartphones running Android 5.0 and iOS 10.0 or newer devices via Bluetooth 5.0 BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy).

Once released, it’ll compete with the likes of Mi Band 5. The Mi Band 5 offers almost similar specs and we’ve to see how well Huami price its Band 5 to have a leg up on Xiaomi’s counterpart.
