With such curiosity, I found the latest horizontal folding screen mobile phones from OPPO, Huawei, Xiaomi and vivo brands to compare with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. Here only look at the main screen, the screen that can be folded, not the secondary screen.
OPPO Find N, which opened the era of “from early adopters to common use” is the most “cute” of the five horizontal folding screens, and it is also the one with the smallest horizontal and vertical ratio. 1792 × 1920, the theoretical pixel density is 369ppi, and the four R corners of the screen are also the largest; regardless of its small body, the whole smartphone actually weighs 275g.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is the most expensive and the most slender among them. The ratio of the folded state is not as reasonable as the other four models, and the weight and thickness are close to those of the OPPO Find N. The unfolded inner screen is 7.6 inches, with a resolution of 2176 × 1812, the theoretical pixel density is 372ppi.
Huawei Mate XS 2 is the only outward-facing foldable phone available on the market today. It weighs 255g and is 11.1mm thick. It is the thinnest and lightest in the folded state. After unfolding, it has a 7.8-inch screen with a resolution of 2480 × 2200. , the theoretical pixel density is 425ppi.
vivo X Fold+ is not thick when folded, but the 8.03-inch inner screen is the largest, and the 311g machine is also the heaviest, with a resolution of 2160 × 1916 and a theoretical pixel density of 359ppi. While Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is the lightest and thinnest. The internal folding screen mobile phone weighs 262g, the unfolded state is 8.02 inches, the resolution is 2160 × 1914, and the theoretical pixel density is also 359ppi.
Only from the comparison of paper parameters, Huawei Mate XS 2 has the highest resolution, and theoretically the finer degree of the picture is also higher, as is the actual naked eye comparison.
Regarding the crease, OPPO Find N, Xiaomi MIX Fold 2, vivo X Fold+ all use a water drop hinge structure, but the thicker OPPO Find N has more water drop space, and the actual unfolded crease depth is shallow, but wide range.
The crease of vivo X Fold+ is close to that of Xiaomi MIX Fold 2, only a little deeper than that of OPPO Find N, but the range is smaller. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 with traditional U-shaped hinge structure has the deepest crease of these models. It is basically visible and the Mate XS 2 folded outwards has a larger bending R angle, and the actual unfolded crease is undoubtedly the shallowest, but the outwardly folded form has to endure the risk of the flexible screen being exposed and easily scratched.
