Previously, we have heard much about the Honor Play 4 Pro, messages show it will be packed with the Kirin 990 chip. But it turns out there is also another phone from this series, the Honor Play 4. And what’s amazing, this handset is rumored to come with the much-talked Dimensity 820.
We know the Redmi 10X will be the world’s first smartphone powered by the Dimensity 820 5G chip. The Honor X10 has already released as the main rival to this handset. But it carries the Kirin 820 chip. So Honor has decided to launch another smartphone to finally beat the Redmi model. And as we understand, this is going to be the Honor Play 4.
In fact, the Honor Play 4 series has a few members as well. After the announcement of the Honor Play 4T and Honor Play 4T Pro phones, the real photos of the Honor Play 4 Pro phone were also leaked a few days ago. So we knew the higher model is on the way.
Just a few days ago, a Weibo blogger Digital chat station, said that the Honor Play 4 Pro will be equipped with the Kirin 990 SoC. It will also sport a front-facing dual-punch-hole screen, side fingerprints, LCD material, rear main camera with a 40MP main sensor (Sony IMX600y), and a 40W super-fast charge.
However, this is not over yet. Today, the same blogger reported that the Honor Play 4 is coming soon after the Honor Play 4 Pro. And the phone will use MediaTek’s Dimensity 820 chip.

According to the official information, the Dimensity 820 has a strong performance. Its AnTuTu score exceeds 410,000. So there is every reason to think this will be the most powerful 5G mid-to-high-end processor in 2020. In the same period, AnTuTu officially released the top processors’ list through its Weibo channel. In it, the Dimensity 820 surpassed the mid-range processors such as the Kirin 820 and Snapdragon 765G. Thus, it became the strongest mid-to-high-end 5G processor currently available.
