Xbox one games are played worldwide on a daily basis and with the growth of its games the users are increasing with the majority of numbers. There were rumors that Microsoft is going to release Windows drivers for Xbox one controller and soon with the growth of users and demand finally, Microsoft has released Windows drivers for Xbox One controller.

This will let all Windows users to gain access to Xbox one games and controller setup over Windows operating systems. But most of the users do not know how to configure Xbox one controller to a Windows machine. This tutorial is all about connecting Xbox one controller to a Windows running computer.

In the case of Xbox one controller you need a standard Micro-USB cable whereas in the case of Xbox 360 wireless controller you need a separate dongle for PC. So with that being said now you don’t need to worry about batteries because this wired connection will provide the power for the controller to function all the time. But you can’t use the box One controller wirelessly on a PC.

In order to setup, the controller you need to download the drivers and the link to the drivers is given below. There are two variants of drivers available, so depending upon your computer’s configuration choose one. Basically, there are two types of drivers available i.e, either a 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64). You can know your systems configuration by right clicking on my computer and then click on properties option. There you will see if your system is 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64).

After you download the drivers all you need to do is open the downloaded file then windows will show an unknown publisher warning as a pop-up, click on run option available on pop up box.

Now a setup wizard appears, read and accept the license agreement, then the installation will finish, then click finish. Now plug in your Xbox One controller.

When you connect it you will see a message on the system tray as “driver software installed successfully”. That’s it you’re good to go. Enjoy games with your box One controller on your PC.
