Today, through its official Weibo channel, iQOO Mobile announced that it will hold the iQOO 5 series new product launch conference at 14:30 on August 17.

Prior to this, we have heard that the iQOO5 series will be divided into three versions, of which the iQOO 5 Pro+ will come with a 120W fast charging and 120Hz curved screen.

At the ChinaJoy event website, iQOO demonstrated the 120W ultra-fast flash charging technology. The latter can charge 50% of the power (4000mAh capacity) in 5 minutes. Also, it can charge the entire battery in 15 minutes. The demonstration machine also showed that the iQOO 5 series uses dual-curved flexible screen.

According to official information, 120W ultra-fast flash charging uses a 20V/6A input power combination. After a lot of analysis and investigation, engineers integrated daily behaviors such as bending and carrying. They believe that passing a current of about 6A on the charging line can provide a relatively comfortable comprehensive experience. Regarding step-down, iQOO introduces two key links: complete the voltage-current conversion from 20V/6A to 10V/12A through a double half-voltage charge pump; then upgrade the traditional single battery to a dual-cell battery pack. The principle converts 10V/12A into (5V/12A)×2, and finally achieves 100% charging in 15 minutes.

Charging safety is the point that users and consumers are most concerned about. For this reason, iQOO also commissioned TÜV Rheinland to conduct safe fast charging certification for 120W ultra-fast charging-and became the first 120W certified fast charging option.

The new iQOO 5 flagship innovatively uses 6C batteries. This allows the battery to have a current passing capacity of 5V/12A, which can achieve a maximum output of 120W. At the same time, the new iQOO machine also uses dual-charge pump technology with dual battery cells in series and a conversion rate of up to 98.5%. It makes the current input more stable and efficient.

Of course, for traditional batteries, such a high-power charging speed is bound to bring more heat. In order to solve this problem, the battery of the iQOO flagship new machine adopts a brand-new ‘MTW array type tab structure’ technology. The latter greatly reduces the heat generation of the battery by reducing the impedance of the battery. It is worth mentioning that the charger of the new iQOO phone also has a built-in dual temperature sensor chip. So the phone can control the charging power according to the temperature of the charger. This ensures the safety of the phone when charging.
