After several weeks of leaks & rumors, iQOO has finally taken the wraps off of the new iQOO 8 series in China. The new iQOO 8 series include iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro and features top-notch specifications. The smartphones run on Android 11 out of the box and are based on Origin OS 1.0. There is no word about the international launch of these smartphones. Now, let us dig into more details about these smartphones.

Pricing and availability of iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro

The pricing of iQOO 8 starts at CNY 3799 (roughly USD 586) for the base variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. And it goes all the way up to CNY 4199 (roughly USD 648) for the variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. iQOO is currently offering CNY 100 as a discount if you pre-book now. While the pricing of the top-end device, i.e., the iQOO 8 Pro, starts at CNY 4999 (roughly USD 770) for the base 8GB + 256GB variant. While the middle variant with 12GB + 256GB is priced at CNY 5499 (roughly USD 848). The 12GB, + 512GB variant starts at CNY 5,999, which converts to roughly USD 925. The iQOO 8 will go on sale from August 24 and the iQOO 8 Pro from August 26.

The iQOO 8 gets a smaller 6.56-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It can blow up to 1200 nits and supports DCI-P3 color gamut, 10bit, and HDR. Underneath, it sports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, which pairs with 8/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Other features include NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, optical in-display fingerprint scanner. X-axis linear motor for haptics, 4D Game vibration, multi turbo 5.5, NFC, Vapour chamber liquid cooling, stereo speakers, and Independent display chip.

The triple camera setup includes a primary 48MP Sony IMX 598 sensor which pairs with 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. Further, it gets a tertiary 13MP telephoto sensor that supports OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and VIS. To the front, the iQOO 8 has a 16MP sensor with an aperture value of f/2.4.

The iQOO 8 packs a 4350mAh and supports 120W wired fast charging tech. It also gets support for wired reverse charging. It weighs nearly 199.9 grams and has a thickness of 8.63mm. The device is available in four color options i.e. in Legendary Edition with the BMW M Motorsport colorway. It also comes in black, white, and orange color variants.

iQOO 8 Pro Specifications!

The iQOO 8 Pro features a 6.7-inches E5 curved sAMOLED LTPO display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a 2k resolution. The refresh rate can vary from 1-120Hz. The display can blow up to 1500 nits and has support for features that the vanilla model does. Underneath, it sports the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC with 8/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256/512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Apart from the features present in the vanilla iQOO 8, the pro gets support for Dolby Vision, Display Mate A+, 4GB of virtual RAM and has an ultra-sonic In-Display fingerprint scanner.

The camera setup includes a primary 50MP Sony IMX 766, and it supports 5-axis gimbal stabilization. It pairs with a 48MP Sony IMX 598 ultra-wide-angle sensor. And finally, it gets a tertiary 16MP telephoto sensor with OIS and VIS. Upfront, it features the same 16MP sensor which you found on the vanilla 8.

iQOO 8 Pro

The iQOO 8 Pro packs a bigger 4500 mAh battery which supports 120W fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The device weighs around 202 grams and has a thickness of 9.19mm. The iQOO 8 Pro comes in two color options. The Legendary Edition with the BMW M Motorsport colorway. And in black which comes with the carbon fiber texture.
