Today, Lenovo MOTO officially released the Razr 5G (Blade 5G) folding screen smartphone in China. It combines the current two popular technologies of 5G + folding screen. And its seamless and non-crease design makes it quite eye-catching. The 8 + 256GB version is priced at 12,499 yuan ($1829). It will go on sale on September 15.
MOTO’s Blade series phones were released in 2004, achieving sales of 130 million units worldwide. The Blade 5G released today is unveiled with a brand-new folding screen. It does not use the existing two folding screen options, inward and outward. They cannot be folded seamlessly and without creases, and the experience is not good enough.
MOTO Blade 5G smartphone’s screen
In this regard, the Blade 5G smartphone adopts a flip folding screen design, bringing the industry’s exclusive star orbit hinge technology with more than 100 innovative patents. It solves the problem that the crease cannot be eliminated when the screen is fully folded.
The Blade 5G folding screen smartphone allows the screen to be completely folded in half with zero gaps without creases. On the other hand, the elastic metal plates on both sides tighten the display to keep the screen flat.
As for durability, the Blade 5G can withstand a bending life of 200,000 times. Even if the smartphone is heavily used, it can still guarantee normal operation for more than 5 years.
The Blade 5G’s external screen is a 2.7-inch gOLED display, while the internal screen is a 6.2-inch OLED display. It has a 21:9 cinema-grade ultra-wide aspect ratio, supports DCI-P3 wide color gamut, and has an excellent display effect.
For both internal and external screens, MOTO has also optimized the experience. The external screen can display common information such as time, date, weather, incoming calls and notifications.
Users can make and receive calls, view and reply to messages, and add contacts directly on the external screen. Users can also add frequently used apps to the external screen. After adding, they can directly operate on the external screen without having to open the internal screen every time, making the interaction more efficient.
In addition, the Blade 5G can also seamlessly switch between internal and external screens. For example, during a video chat, you can switch directly from the external screen to the internal screen to continue.
Performance
The Blade 5G uses the Snapdragon 765G 5G platform. It is based on a 7nm 8-core architecture, with a frequency of up to 2.4GHz, and supports 5G SA/NSA dual-mode networks (9-band 5G worldwide and 24 4G frequency bands).
The phone has a 20-megapixel selfie lens on the front and a 48-megapixel AI lens on the rear. The rear camera can easily become a front camera. In addition, it also supports TOF depth camera, portrait HDR, AF autofocus, OIS, AI portrait super night scene and other gameplay.
The Blade 5G is equipped with a 2800mAh battery, which supports 15W flash charging, and comes standard with 18W fast charging heads.
