So we just learned that Apple’s latest iPad Pro comes equipped with Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) technology. This has not been incorporated into the iPhone yet. This means the iPad Pro is now capable of spatial positioning. And even more robust AR (augmented reality) with the addition of scan mode functionality.

Meizu 17 Pro

If you’ve been closely following developments in the automotive industry. Then you’re likely familiar with Lidar, a technology very similar to Sonar and Radar. Lidar functions in similar ways by detecting objects in environments where the scanners are deployed. If this leaks about the Meizu 17 Pro coming out with Lidar technology turns out to true. Then the smartphone will join the ranks of iPad Pro to offer powerful AR application functionalities.

Reports also indicate that the Meizu 17 Pro will feature a 64MP Sony IMX686 imaging sensor. It is currently the most powerful image sensor in the market. Other specs of this smartphone include a wide-angle screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, smart 5G, WiFi 6 networking technology, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Chipset paired with a 6 GB RAM, and 128 GB internal storage, UFS 3.1, and 4500 mAh battery with 30W fast charge support and runs on Android v9. 0 (Pie) operating system.

The Meizu 17 Pro comes out on May 8 and will be available online. The company has already started mass production ahead of launch.
