Ever since the bittersweet rivalry between India and China started, many brands pounced on the opportunity to showcase Make in India products. One of them is Micromax, yes you heard that right. Micromax has been out of the smartphone business for years. They have been outclassed by Chinese smartphone brands with aggressive pricing and competitive specs. Due to that reason, they decided to exit the smartphone segment. Their new device is helmed as Micromax In Series.
However recently they announced that they will be entering the smartphone market again and dedicate it to fellow Indians. Yesterday, Micromax’s Co-Founder Rahul Sharma, gave a speech regarding their comeback and what to expect from them. He also agreed that they have made some mistakes down the line and claims to rectify them this time around.
Specifications leaked earlier today
Moments earlier, there has been a leak regarding the upcoming Micromax devices and gave us an insight upon its key specifications. The phones are expected to price between Rs 7000 to Rs 15000. One of the Micromax In Series smartphones will be loaded with the MediaTek Helio G35 while the other will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 processor.
The one with MediaTek Helio G35 will be equipped with an HD+ display of 6.5 inches. It will come in two storage variants – 2GB+32GB and 3GB+32GB. Furthermore, the device will draw its power from a 5000mAh battery and is likely to run on Stock Android.
Coming to optics, the one with 2GB+32GB variant will house a dual-camera setup at the back with a 13MP primary sensor and 2MP sensor. Whereas the front-facing camera will house an 8MP sensor for selfies.
On the other hand, the one with 3GB+32GB will house a triple camera setup at the back with a 13MP primary sensor, 5MP Ultrawide (assumption) and a 2MP sensor. Whereas, the front-facing camera will accommodate a larger 13MP sensor.
Although, we do not have much information on the second phone. But we know it will come with a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset. Hopefully this time Micromax adapts with the market scenario and offers good specs and aggressive pricing. The smartphones are rumoured to arrive in early November. Talking about the video by the Rahul Sharma, the company is all set to come back to India and also include Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘AtmaNirbhar Bharat’ initiative. The Twitter handle has also used the tag #INForIndia with INMobiles.
