Chinese smartphone giant Huawei has recently released the Huawei Hongmeng System 2.0 at the Huawei Developer Conference. The company claims that Huawei smartphones will fully support HarmonyOS in 2021. Apart from that, they have also applied for a smartphone design patent to the National Intellectual Property Office (CNIPA) back in August last year. It was brought to our notice after a document for the same surfaced recently.
The document mainly consists of the smartphone design and gives us a brief overview of what to expect from it. The application number for the device is 201930477727.2 and states that the patent was applied on the 30th of August last year. The patent was designed by Li Jiaolang Huang Jiang Sylvan and Yebel Jiang Zhiqiang as per the document.
The design doesn’t provide anything new apart from its unique design at the back. Nonetheless, the document contains – main view, rear view, top view, and bottom view for the upcoming smartphone.
The patented smartphone adopts a dated notch at the top of its display and houses a rectangular quad-camera setup at the back witch its flash located at extreme left. The front-facing camera must be embedded inside the notch.
Additionally, we could notice that the device will be missing out on the 3.5mm headphone jack. The SIM tray, along with the Type-C port, and the speaker can be found at the bottom of the smartphone.
The official statement for this device hasn’t been made yet. We might have to wait for it by the end of this year. Stay tuned for more updates.
