Nubia 65W GaN Charger

In March 2020, the Shenzhen domiciled Nubia Technology unveiled its latest smartphone. The ZTE nubia Red Magic 5G and a number of accessories that included Gallium nitride (GaN) based charger. Now we’re happy to report that the Nubia 65W GaN Charger is available for sale at just 139 Yuan ($20). The product is listed online with the official availability date of 17th April.

The Nubia 65W GaN Charger was initially rumored to cost 169 Yuan ($24). However, information now available shows the charger will actually cost 139 Yuan when it goes on sale in just a matter of hours. This new charger is designed using Gallium nitride (GaN). GaN is a binary III/V direct bandgap semiconductor commonly used in light-emitting diodes (LEDs) since the 1990s. The compound is a very hard material that has a Wurtzite crystal structure.

This GaN charger from Nubia features a foldable plug design. USB Type-A port and another USB Type C port positioned at the top of the charger. It has a 30W Type-C single port and 65W Output ports and a 24W USB-A single port output. We also learn that the charger has a smaller volume. Superior thermal conductivity, and higher temperature resistance. 

Nubia 65W GaN Charger also supports a number of fast charging protocols such as Power Delivery 3.0. AFC, SCP/FCP, Quick Charge 3.0 among many others.  Last but not least, this charger supports smart switching of duo range currents and comes with a 90-degree foldable plug to boot.
