After the global launch on April 14, the OnePlus 8 has finally made surfaced on its home turf in China at 19:00 Bejing time. The new flagship smartphone series from OnePlus is finally unveiled with Snapdragon 865 bundled with 5G compatible Snapdragon X55 modem, and a lot other high-end specifications. There are slight changes in both devices.
OnePlus 8 series comes with two smartphones – OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.
OnePlus 8 specifications
OnePlus 8 sports a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display featuring 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass and support HDR10+ and 90Hz refresh rate. It is fully designed to bring an immersive viewing experience.
OnePlus 8 comes powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset built on 7nm process and an X55 modem for 5G support. It also features an Adreno 650 GPU to handle graphics-intensive games. It comes in 128GB + 8GB RAM and 256 GB + 12 GB RAM variants. There’s a primary 48-megapixel camera, a 16-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. There’s a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. Moreover, the users will get WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C port in connectivity. A 4300 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with 30W fast charging is packed inside the device.
OnePlus 8 is available in Onyx Black, Glacial Green, Interstellar Glow and Polar Silver colours.
OnePlus 8 Pro Specifications
OnePlus 8 Pro houses a beautiful yet elegant 6.78-inch Fluid AMOLED display with the resolution of 1440 x 3168 pixels having an aspect ratio of 20:9. Moreover, it supports a 120Hz refresh rate for the vivid gaming experience. It also houses the same Snapdragon 865 chipset and comes in same storage variants of 128GB and 256 GB with 8/12 GB RAM.
Instead of triple camera sensors, the OnePlus 8 embeds a quad-camera module consisting of 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens, another 48-megapixel ultrawide sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. There’s a 16-megapixel sensor on the front with Auto-HDR and gyro-EIS as like its younger sibling.
However, OnePlus for the first time introduced 30W wireless charging. It is available in Glacial Green, Ultramarine Blue, Onyx Black.
OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro pricing in China
OnePlus 8 series is priced at considerably lower prices than in the US. The users can get the OnnePlus 8 from the starting price of 3999 Yuan (~$565), while the onePlus 8 Pro is set for 5399 Yuan (~$765). OnePlus also launched OnePlus WIreless Z earphones.
