Chinese manufacturer OnePlus released its OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro back in April. Several reports suggest that the company is planning to come up with the successor to its popular flagship series. OnePlus 8T renders have surfaced courtesy of Pricebaba and Onleaks, earlier today. These renders also include the specs for the device.
Speculations surrounding the OnePlus 8T and its specifications
These renders are only said to be based on internal schematics and not of 3D CADs, so dimensions are out of the picture for now. Although by the look of it, the OnePlus renders don’t look very promising, it somehow resembles the Realme X7 Pro.
According to the OnePlus renders, it seems that the screen would stop having a curve, something that more than one user will appreciate, although the cut-out on the screen for the front camera would end up keeping it where it was.
On the left side, we have the power button and alert slider in their usual positions while the volume button is situated on the right side. Whereas on the top, we have only the noise-cancelling mic whereas the bottom houses the SIM card tray, USB Type-C port, and loudspeaker grill.
Surprisingly, the part that attracts the most attention is the rear camera module. The company is willing to bet on a rectangular design for its module like other manufacturers, differentiating itself less and less from its rivals.
Talking about its specifications, the OnePlus 8T will feature a 6.55-inch display with full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate an upgrade over its predecessor i.e. OnePlus 8, which features a 90Hz display.
One the performance part, the phone will be powered by Snapdragon 865 SoC running on OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11. Seems odd considering we hoped that it would be powered the Snapdragon 865+. This might be a trend for easy cost-cutting since recently leaked Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro also features the Snapdragon 865 SoC.
Coming to optics, the phone will house a 48MP primary camera, a 16MP ultra-wide lens, 5MP macro and 2MP portrait sensors. Whereas, the front camera will likely be a 32MP sensor, an upgrade compared to the 16MP cameras found on both the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro.
Additionally, it will have a 4,500mAh battery which supports 65W Warp Charge. Notably, this will be the first OnePlus phone to use above 30W fast charging.
Expected launch date
Furthermore, the smartphone has already received BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification which suggests that the launch is imminent. It’s safe to say that we can expect the OnePlus 8T to arrive as early as later this month.
