Today, OnePlus held a new product launch conference and announced its first mid-range smartphone, namely the OnePlus Nord. Apart from this, there was another first-time product – true wireless headphones dubbed as the OnePlus Buds. They are priced at $79 / £79 / €89. These are not the most affordable headphones on the market though. Say, Xiaomi has a cheaper model. But when compared with the Apple AirPods, they are quite affordable.

However, this is not an ideal product. We mean, at this price tag, there are many shortcomings. Say, there’s no noise-cancellation, no silicone ear tips, and no wireless charging. But you will get 7 hours of music playback. Plus, the charging case will add other 23 hours of endurance. In this regard, $79 for 30 hours of music playback is quite acceptable. When it comes to charging, OnePlus says that you’ll get 10 hours of playback from just 10 minutes of charge, and a full charge should take around 80 minutes.

They look like traditional true wireless headphones. And OnePlus offers three color variants of white, gray, and blue. By the way, the latter is exclusive to Europe and India. They’re available to preorder from today.

At last, the company has added a couple of interesting features here. First is support for Dolby Atmos. It is considered to create a better surround sound experience when listening to compatible content. The headphones also have an IPX4 water resistance rating.
