Oppo is planning to unveil its Oppo Reno5 series very soon. Recent leaks suggest that the series will use three different chipsets such as Dimensity 1000, Snapdragon 765G and Snapdragon 865. As we can recall, most of the flagship smartphones came with Snapdragon 865 chipset this year. Only a few brands such as Samsung, ASUS, and Lenovo launched devices with Snapdragon 865+ chipset. Earlier today, tipster Digital Chat Station stated that the Oppo Reno5 series smartphone might use the Snapdragon 870 chipset (overclocked Snapdragon 865).
More about Snapdragon 870 chipset
Digital Chat Station came out with more detailed information regarding the Snapdragon 870 on the Oppo Reno5 series smartphone. It seems that the Snapdragon 870 SoC will be clocked at 3.20GHz for its main core as opposed to 2.84GHz found on Snapdragon 865. The new GPU is clocked at 905MHz up from 587MHz found on the Snapdragon 865. Because of that, the AnTuTu benchmark score is almost up by 70,000 points on the new Snapdragon 870 SoC compared to the Snapdragon 865 chipset.
Recently, the Oppo Reno5 surfaced on TENNA revealing that the device will come with a 6.43″ OLED display. For Optics, the device has a quad-camera setup at the back which includes a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera. The device will draw its power from a 4300mAh battery which supports 65W fast charging.
The upcoming Oppo Reno5 Series might be launched by the end of this. However, we can expect the Snapdragon 870 SoC as early as Q1 2021 on a new Oppo device.
Apart from this, Oppo is also gearing up to launch its flagship Find X3 series smartphone. Earlier this year, the company unveiled Find X2 and Find X2 Pro as their top tier premium smartphones. The upcoming smartphone hasn’t been teased officially, but we can assume that it will at least be powered by the new Snapdragon 875 chipset. It is rumoured to house Sony’s 7000-series sensors as well. Just like its predecessor, the new Find X3 series will include Find X3 and Find X3 Pro. The non-pro variant might include the Snapdragon 870 as per recent speculations.
