Yes, it’s true. These six wheeled robots will bring your pizza at your doorsteps. Domino’s has partnered with Starship technologies, which has developed the six-wheeled robot. The robots are two feet tall and weigh about 40 pounds when empty. Thier walking speed is around four miles per hour. These robots will take Domino’s customers order for home delivery.
The robots are developed by the London-based tech company called Starship Technologies. Starship Technologies was founded by two Skype co-founders ‘Ahti Heinla and Janus Friis.’ It was organized in 2014. This Technology will use its “personal delivery devices” this summer in Hamburg, Germany. If every thing goes well Domino’s and Starship will bring robot pizza delivery to the Netherlands also.
In beginning stage for the trail, they will make the delivery only within the one-mile radius of the Domino’s outlet. Domino’s robots work with batteries and can carry up to 20 pounds of food at a time. The robot has a hot insulated case inside it which keeps the ordered pizza hot and fresh.
In New Zealand, Domino’s has tested the delivery of the order through a drone system. It was the successful computerization in New Zealand. There is a pre-assigned route already fixed which is followed by robots. If the robot finds any obstacles in the way, it takes the alternative path. So, isn’t it an awesome news?
