Realme teased the X7 series for quite some time now. Realme CEO, Madhav Seth had been active on Twitter and somewhat hyped the Realme X7 series last few weeks. On February 4, 2021, the company officially launched the Realme X7 5G and Realme X7 Pro 5G. However, the company took a different turn altogether and launched a rebranded Realme V15 5G as India’s Realme X7 5G. That said, this the first time that the company has launched Dimensity powered smartphones with 5G connectivity support.
Both are them are extremely lightweight since most of the smartphones launched recently are above the 200g mark. The Realme X7 5G weights approximately 179g whereas the Realme X7 Pro 5G weighs only 184g. Other than that, both smartphones resemble a typical Realme smartphone.
Realme X7 5G: Specifications
At its core, the Realme X7 5G is powered by Mediatek’s Dimensity 800U SoC which supports 5G connectivity. It is paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage. One of its major disadvantages is the lack of a MicroSD card slot. The smartphone runs on Android 10 based on Realme UI out of the box. The company claims that the Realme UI version 2.0 will soon be made available for the smartphone.
Moving towards the front, the device houses a 6.4” FHD+ Super AMOLED display. The display has a 90.8% screen-to-body ratio and supports 1080×2400 resolution.
For optics, the device houses a triple camera setup which includes a 64MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP Ultra Wide-angle Lens with f/2.3 aperture and a 2MP Macro Lens with f/2.4 aperture. Whereas at the front, it gets a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor with f/2.5 aperture.
One of its main USP has to be its charging speed. The device is powered by a 4310mAh battery which supports an impressive 50W SuperDart Charge.
In addition, the device features Dual 5G SIM support, Bluetooth 5.1, in-display fingerprint sensor, Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Magnetic induction sensor, Acceleration sensor, Gyro-meter sensor, GPS / GLONASS / BEIDOU / GALILEO / QZSS, USB Type-C port. The fact that the device doesn’t have a physical 3.5mm jack which is a huge disadvantage in this price range, the company has included a 3.5mm to USB-C Cable in the box.
Realme X7 Pro 5G: Specifications
At its core, the Realme X7 Pro 5G is powered by Mediatek’s Dimensity 1000+ SoC which also supports 5G connectivity. It is paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage. The lack of a MicroSD card slot is the same with this one too. The smartphone runs on Android 10 based on Realme UI out of the box.
Moving towards the front, the device houses a 6.55” FHD+ Super AMOLED display with 120Hz Refresh Rate. The display has a 91.6% screen-to-body ratio and supports 2400×1080 resolution. On the plus side, the device is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
For optics, the device houses a quad-camera setup which includes a superior 64MP Sony IMX 686 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP Ultra Wide-angle Lens with f/2.25 aperture, a 2MP Macro Lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 2MP B&W Portrait Lens with f/2.4. Whereas at the front, it gets a superior 32MP sensor with f/2.5 aperture.
The Pro version gets a slightly bigger 4500mAh battery which supports an insanely fast 65W SuperDart Charger.
Similar to the non-pro version, the device features Dual 5G SIM support, Bluetooth 5.1, in-display fingerprint sensor, Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Magnetic induction sensor, Acceleration sensor, Gyro-meter sensor, GPS / GLONASS / BEIDOU / GALILEO / QZSS, USB Type-C port. This device too doesn’t have a physical 3.5mm jack but the company will compensate with a 3.5mm to USB-C Cable in the box.
