Earlier today, Redmi has announced that is has sold over 140 million Redmi Note devices globally. They retained the same premium feel with additional upgrades for its Redmi Note 8 series. For that reason, they were able to achieve that feat. Recently, reports have poured in regarding the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G. They claim that the device will house a massive 108MP Samsung HM2 camera sensor. The official launch date is expected to be revealed tomorrow. However, an image that has been shared earlier today revealed that the Redmi Note 9 5G series might be announced on November 26.

Reliable tipster Abhishek Yadav came up with the leak from Weibo which revealed the launch date for the Redmi Note 9 5G series. The event is likely to commence at 8 PM IST.  Moving on, Xiaomi first broke the Mega-pixel barrier first with the Redmi Note 7 featuring a 48MP sensor, then the Redmi Note 8 Pro last year with a 64MP sensor. For the Redmi Note 9 Series, they have implemented the 48MP and the 64MP camera sensor. This year they will break the barrier with the 108MP sensor.

As per the pricing is concerned, Redmi will try to keep the Redmi Note 9 5G price around CNY 1000 (roughly $150), and the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G will be priced somewhere around CNY 1500 (roughly $230) judging by Redmi’s track record.

Expectations from the Redmi Note 9 5G series

As per recent records, the Redmi Note 9 5G might be renamed Redmi Note 9T as its global variant. According to recent certifications, the device will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC running on MIUI 12 based Android 10. It will sport a 6.53-inch IPS LCD FHD+ display panel. It will be available in 4/6/8 GB RAM with 64/128/256GB internal storage. The triple camera sensor is lead by a 48MP primary lens. Whereas a 13MP camera resides under the punch-hole. The smartphone will feature a 5000 mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging.

Whereas, the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC running on MIUI 12 based Android 10. However, the display might remain the same but recent rumors indicate a 120Hz refresh rate panel. Cameras wise, it will feature a 108MP sensor.

Lastly, there will be a Redmi Note 9 4G as well, but it is less likely to launch globally. Recently, Poco has been teasing its Poco M3 which they will launch on November 24. We believe that the new Poco device will once again be rebranded. Hopes for the Redmi Note 9 4G are less likely.
