Install TWRP Recovery on Xiaomi Redmi 5:

First, you need to install TWRP Recovery on your Xiaomi Redmi 5. This can be done as follows:

Root Xiaomi Redmi 5 using SuperSU Magisk:

  1. Boot your smartphone into TWRP Recovery mode. 
  2. You might be prompted for a PIN/password, enter what you wrote down earlier.
  3. Select “Wipe >> Format Data” on TWRP Recovery Menu.
  4. Tap “Yes” to confirm the deletion of system files. This step will result in the total and permanent deletion of all files in your device. Reason for recommending back-up earlier.

  10. Disconnect device from the computer.
  11. Go to TWRP Recovery Menu and select “Install”.
  12. Browse to the Magisk or SuperSU zip file.
  13. Swipe to confirm flash. This will root your Xiaomi Redmi 5.
