Qualcomm has a serious rival in the mid-range niche this year. The only Snapdragon 765G and the upgraded version of the Snapdragon 768G processor are somewhat difficult to resist in the fierce offensive of MediaTek and Hisilicon. Fortunately, this situation may soon be reversed. It turns out Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 7 series processors will be shipped in a small scale in mid-June. The CPU will be 40% faster than that of the Snapdragon 765G. The GPU has a 50% upgrade. And it is rumored this chip will debut with the new Xiaomi CC10 series. However, it turns out we are dealing with Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 775 (tentative name) chip.

There have been rumors in the past that Qualcomm has also launched the Snapdragon processor with the internal model number SM7350. Although the test has been started in March this year, there is no information when it will debut.
Obviously, if the Snapdragon 775 processor mentioned here should be the new Snapdragon 7 series chip with the internal model of SM7350. And if the performance of the CPU and GPU is greatly upgraded, it indicates that it may use four Cortex-A77 large cores architecture. Also, the GPU may reach the level of the Snapdragon 855 processor, which should be Qualcomm’s most powerful mid-range chip.
6nm process
Unfortunately, there is no information concerning the process technology and other parameters of this Snapdragon 775 processor. But considering the previous news from Samsung’s internal channels, the Kirin 820 and Qualcomm chips have had 6nm tapes in Samsung. So perhaps the Qualcomm chip that was taped at the same time is this Snapdragon 775 processor. And it may use Samsung’s 6nm process technology.
The Snapdragon 775 processor should also integrate a 5G chip. It is expected to be upgraded in terms of display refresh rate, Bluetooth version, WiFi 6 standard, and support LPDDR5 memory and UFS3.1 flash storage. The camera will still reach 192MP resolution. We should also note that the name of the so-called Snapdragon 775 is just a rumor, and it does not necessarily mean that Qualcomm will launch a new 7 series processor in this way in the future.
Will the Xiaomi CC10 be the first?
As for the first manufacturer and model of the Snapdragon 775 processor, although OPPO and VIVO have been testing some models with such a chip, the first one may be Xiaomi. It is closely related to Qualcomm. So many think the upcoming CC series will come with it in mid-July.
