We know Huawei can’t use American hardware and software products because of the restrictions. This also refers to Google services. That’s why the Chinese tech company has developed its own mobile service, namely Huawei Mobile Service (HMS). There are already many smartphones coming with this new service. And we have to admit they have appeared not only in the domestic market but in many European markets as well. But what’s more interesting this may have the snowball effect. Recently, the company introduced the Petal Search service, which is the Google Search analog. It is already available in the AppGallery application store.

Previously, Here WeGo map has been listed in AppGallery in April, it is an attempt by Huawei to replace Google Maps. The Petal Search is a step forward to replace Google Search. In addition to simple search, it can also help users find apps and information without the Google Play store.

The key point is that the APP solves a very difficult problem for Huawei. That is, the application on Huawei’s own APPgallery is really limited, users can now use “Petal Search” to search and enter the third-party web application store to download the application, it can be considered as a remedy for the insufficient application in APPgallery.

Where does the story start?

At the online conference of terminal products and strategies held on February 24, Huawei launched the new HUAWEI AppGallery application store. The HUAWEI Search App was tested and launched overseas and required installation.

This comprehensive search service will greatly improve the support of HMS services, especially in supplementary applications. For example, it can provide one-stop services for Android applications to simplify operations and maintain user contact with Huawei.

On May 24, without obtaining the authorization of the Google GMS suite, Huawei is updating its own HMS architecture system. It can not only get rid of the limitations of Android but also pave the way for its own Harmony system.

Following the listing of the Here WeGo map, Huawei’s own “HUAWEI Search” service is now available (previously it has been in beta).

By May this year, this number had grown to 1.5 million. The number of applications connected to HMS Core exceeded 60,000, a year-on-year increase of 66.7%.
