Vivo has launched its new Vivo V20 smartphone at an event earlier today. The Chinese giant has made a significant leap towards improving the camera experience as compared to the brands in a similar budget. The phone holds decent performance and an AMOLED display. However, the Vivo V20 SE will be launched later as per the company’s claim.

The all-new Vivo V20 will be powered by the tried and tested Snapdragon 720G and will run the latest FunTouch OS 11 UI. However, it will be the first phone to ship with the newest Android 11 OS out of the box. It has up to 8GB of LPPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. There is a microSD card slot on board for more storage. The phone draws its power from a 4,000mah battery which supports 33W FlashCharge.

On the display front, it has a 6.44-inch S-AMOLED FHD+ display with a waterdrop notch. It has a 20:9 aspect ratio with 60Hz refresh rate, nothing fancy over here.

At first glance, the camera module looks similar to Vivo’s X50. The camera stands out whenever its from the house of Vivo. This device particularly gets a beefy 64MP primary camera with f/1.89 aperture, an 8MP camera for ultra-wide-angle, macro, and bokeh shots, and a 2MP mono lens. The rear cameras support features like motion/eye/object autofocus, super night mode, super wide-angle video, art portrait video, ultra-stable video, 4K video recording, etc.

Whereas on the front it houses a 44MP camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies. It offers users with features like eye autofocus, super night selfie, dual-view video, steadiface selfie video, 4K selfie video shooting, and slow-motion selfie video.

Additional connectivity features include the likes of dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Pricing and availability

The new Vivo V20 is available in three colours – Midnight Jazz, Moonlight Sonata, and Sunset Melody. As for its pricing, the device starts at Rs 24,999 (roughly $340) for its 8GB RAM + 128GB variant and Rs 27,990 (roughly $382) for its 8GB RAM + 128GB variant. The device will be available in India from October 20 on Flipkart. It is currently up for pre-booking.
