A few months ago, the Chinese technology gigantic Xiaomi introduced the world’s first smartphone device with 108MP primary camera. But now, the same enterprise is looking forward to leaping one step ahead to launch a 150MP camera smartphone. It is being rumoured to arrive in the last quarter of the current year.
If we follow a post published by a reliable tipster Iceuniverse, a smartphone with a 150MP camera is ready to land the market in Q4 of this year, and it will be launched by Samsung.
However, the South Korean manufacturer Samsung will develop the 150MP sensor. But it will not introduce the sensor in its own smartphone. As of now, we don’t know the exact model Xiaomi will introduce the camera with. As per speculations, it could be installed on the Mi Mix Series of the Mi CC Series.

According to the leaked reports, the 150MP sensor has surpassed the Research and Development (R&D) phase. Further, the camera will utilize the same Nonacell technology, which we have seen in the Galaxy S20 Ultra’s sensor. Using this technology, the sensor will be able to compress nine pixels into one to gain higher light absorption. Ultimately, the final shot will technically have 16MP counts.
In the meantime, we also have some other reports, indicating another launch of the 150MP sensor. They say that Vivo and Oppo may also come with the 150MP camera smartphones in the Q1 of 2021. These handsets will be powered by Qualcomm SD875 CPU.
Furthermore, reports also claim that Samsung has already started working on 250MP camera. A few days ago, news had appeared that Samsung is planning to develop a 600MP camera sensor to cross even the pixel limit (500MP) of the human eye. Let’s see what the future contains for us.
