Today, following the schedule, Xiaomi released its annual flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 11. The biggest highlight was the world’s premiere of Qualcomm’s new flagship mobile platform Snapdragon 888. Perhaps the most expensive screen in history has also taken a qualitative leap.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Appearance
The Xiaomi Mi 11 uses a lot of exquisite craftsmanship to enhance the texture, including integrated glass CNC processing camera glass cover, sound wave design speaker opening, screen edge micro-slit sound hole, ultra-narrow design edge antenna isolation belt, sandblasted button edge, CD texture power button surface, etc.
There are as many as five different colors, among which black, white and blue use an AG frosted glass, weighing 196g, and the thickness is 8.06mm. The smoked purple and khaki have a plain leather back cover, weighing 194g, and the thickness is 8.56mm. The interior also uses more compact 01005 capacitor inductance patch that makes the main board volume down by 3/4.
There are two built-in grip sensors on the top and bottom to monitor the grip status in real time. They cooperate with the gyroscope to intelligently judge the anti-mistouch area.
Xiaomi also continues to use the ultra-thin optical fingerprint recognition under the screen. The brightness of the unlocked fingerprint area at night is as low as 110 nits. It even supports heart rate monitoring. The heart rate can be measured by gently pressing the fingerprint module for 15 seconds with an average error of 2.11bpm.
Screen
The phone sports a 6.81-inch quad-curved full-screen. The resolution is increased to 3200×1400 pixels. The pixel density is 515PPI. It supports DCI-P3 color gamut and uses the latest E4 luminescent material. The brightness is up to 1500 nits, and it can reach 900 nits under strong light. At the same time, the display supports 8192 brightness adjustment, which is brighter and lower power consumption than the currently commonly used E3 materials.
Apart from the aforementioned screen parameters, there is also support for 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate , ultra-high color accuracy, 1 billion color display, etc. DisplayMate evaluation gave the highest A+ level, claiming that it refreshes every 13 records.
The built-in AI master image quality engine supports super-resolution display enhancement, AI intelligent scene optimization, video image quality enhancement, and dynamic picture compensation.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 also uses the brand new Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. This is currently the toughest screen cover, which is able to withstand drops from a height of 2 meters, drop resistance by 1.5 times, and wear resistance by 2 times.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Performance
The phone sports the world’s first Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. It comes with a 5nm process. Also, this is the first commercial use of the X1 super-large core, with a clock speed of up to 2.84GHz. The chip is paired with a UFS 3.1 flash storage and a full blood LPDDR5 memory. It has a frequency of 3200MHz and a data transfer rate of 6400Mbps. The phone supports Wi-Fi 6 wireless network. The ultimate throughput rate is 3.5Gbps.
In order to suppress powerful hardware, the Xiaomi Mi 11 uses a VC liquid-cooled three-dimensional heat dissipation system. Plus, it has a large-area VC soaking plate covering SoC, power management chips and other heat sources. The phone uses a built-in new ultra-thin aerogel thermal blocking material, a large amount of graphite, copper foil, thermal gel, and multi-point monitoring sensor.
Endurance
The battery capacity is 4600mAh. It supports 55W wired fast charge (full charge in 45 minutes), 50W wireless fast charge (full charge in 53 minutes), and 10W wireless reverse charge.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Camera
The phone has three rear camera sensors on the back. The main camera is the classic Samsung HMX 100MP CMOS with a 1/1.33 inch outsole sensor. The latter supports 1.6 micron four-in-one pixels technology, OIS, 7P lens, etc. There is also a 123-degree 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50mm focal length telephoto macro lens.
The front hosts a 20-megapixel ultra-micro lens. It uses a patented ultra-small lens module, which reduces the screen opening and supports large wide-angle panoramic group photos.
In terms of camera gameplay, the Xiaomi Mi 11 has added super night scene video, master movie camera filter, movie lens, magic change and upgrade.
Other features
It is worth noting that the Xiaomi Mi 11 package is available in two versions. The standard version does not include a charger and data cable, and the package version comes with a 55W GaN charger and data cable worth 99 yuan at the same price.
The phone has a three-dimensional two-in-one speaker with a 1216 super linear unit, intelligent scene recognition, professional tuning by Harman Kardon, Hi-Res certification, and self-developed recording noise reduction algorithm.
What’s interesting is that Bluetooth can output two data streams at the same time. You can connect to two Bluetooth speakers to form a stereo or two Bluetooth headsets. The phone supports Bluetooth sound transmission.
Needless to say, other things like X-axis linear motor, dual-frequency GPS/Beidou navigation, full-function NFC, and infrared remote control are all in place.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Price
The Xiaomi Mi 11 is still starting at 3999 yuan ($612), which is exactly the same as the previous generation.
