According to an official source, Xiaomi is planning to formally announce the MIUI 12 in China on April 27th, 2020. This comes after a number of leaks and rumors regarding the upcoming Xiaomi MIUI update. The most recent leak reports that new Android skin is in the works. It is scheduled for release by the end of April 2020. We can dispense with all the rumors now that the company has released an official poster. The poster confirms the announcement of the MIUI 12 as well as a product launch.
It will launch along with the Mi 10 Youth Edition according to the official poster. The new smartphone – Mi 10 Youth Edition comes with a quad-rear camera module featuring 50x zoom. Xiaomi says that “Xiaomi 10 Youth Edition, is a 5G mobile phone specially designed for young people. It is thin and colorful, and it looks far more fun.”
Availability
Speculations are rife that the Mi 10 Youth edition is likely the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite. They also announced a lite version priced at Eur 349. This new device will launch domestically on April 27th. On the very same day, Xiaomi will officially announce the MIUI 12.
Specifications
The Xiaomi Mi 10 which is apparently the Mi 10 Lite, has a 6.57-inch AMOLED true color display. It also sports an on-screen fingerprint reader, Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G Octa-Core chipset, alongside 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. As expected, the Xiaomi Mi 10 comes with 5G connectivity support made possible by the Qualcomm X52 modem. The device is also Wi-Fi 6 certified.
Xiaomi Mi 10 battery capacity is 4,160mAh. Unfortunately, this doesn’t match with the recent pronouncements from Xiaomi. Xiaomi had announced that all future 5G enabled smartphones will feature, at the least, 4,500mAh battery.
