Xiaomi twisting camera patent detailed
According to 91Mobiles, the Chinese electronics maker has filed a patent for a ‘twisting’ camera design. The new unique camera design is filed with the China National Intellectual Property Administration. Along with the patent listing, an image of the patent is also published.
As per the patent, the rear cameras rotate 180 degrees to act like a selfie camera. The module sits on top of the device with a display on the front side. The rear cameras will act like selfie shooter upon 180-degree rotation. This way, the smartphone can maintain a full-view display without any punch or pill-shaped hole in the display.
The new design appears to be practical, legit and totally different from the smartphones that we’ve seen until now. It appears to be intuitive and even expands the display usability present with the module. The design appears perfect on the paper, but it is complex to implement practically. However, the success of the patent relies on the way of implementation. The company needs to figure the proper way and software tweaks to make more out of the design.
However, the patent can be just an ‘in-case’ scenario and we won’t see it in the near future. What do you think? share your important views via comments below.
