YouTube Music Streaming: Google’s YouTube announced on Wednesday that it will introduce a new music streaming service, YouTube Music, next week on May 22 and it will also start a premium service which will charge more for its original shows like Cobra Kai. YouTube Music is said to have personalized playlists based on individual’s YouTube search history and other usage patterns.

It will be an ad-supported version but will be available for free to the users. Along with this, YouTube Premium will also be launched which will be a refurbished version of YouTube Red subscription service.

YouTube Premium is to be an advertisement free, paid service and will offer both music and video streaming along with features such as background listening while working with other apps at $11.99 per month (approximately Rs.810) for the new subscribers.

The previous YouTube Red users will be able to avail YouTube Premium services at $9.9 per month (approximately Rs.676) but with no background listening feature, song downloads and music discovery features according to official blog.

YouTube Music, YouTube Premium services will be launched in the first-world countries of United States, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and South Korea on Tuesday and expanded to other countries in the upcoming weeks.

Some countries where this will be launched after the first-world countries are Austria, Denmark, Canada, Italy, Norway, Russia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, Sweden and Spain.

This YouTube Music, YouTube Premium streaming service is being launched primarily to compete with Apple Music and Spotify according to eminent people. YouTube is currently owned by Alphabet Inc. and is a subsidiary under Google.

“YouTube Premium includes advertisement free, background listening and offline across all of YouTube Originals including Cobra Kai, Step Up: High Water and Youth & Consequences,” YouTube said this week. Cobra Kai is a comedy series, which is a sequel to the hit movie franchise Karate Kid consisting of 10-episodes.

Apart from all the exceptional benefits to be provides, the search options are expected to be upgraded with the arrival of the new YouTube Music so that the users can search for lyrics or type vague track descriptions and still will be searched successfully.

Hopefully, the launch of YouTube Music and re branding of YouTube Red will provide a stable platform to Google to compete with Apple’s music streaming services and Netflix with its video streaming services. Good luck!
