Huawei Mate 40 Pro: Specifications

The Huawei Mate 40 Pro houses a 6.67″ OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate sampling. The device has an impressive 1344p resolution along with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. As seen on most flagships, this device too houses an under-display fingerprint scanner.

Coming to its chipset, the device is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 9000 based on 5nm architecture. It will be their last new high-end SoC manufactured by TSMC before the ban by the US kicks in. It is an octa-core chipset where the first core uses the ARM Cortex-A77 architecture maxing out at 3.13 GHz, while the next three cores use the low powered ARM Cortex-A77 architecture maxing out at 2.54 GHz and the remaining four cores use ARM Cortex-A55 architecture maxing out at 2.04 GHz.

In addition to the fast CPU cores, the chip also has an ARM Mali-G78 graphics unit, the Huawei-typical neural processing engine for processing data from the field of artificial intelligence and an integrated 5G modem, which is probably only in Sub -6 GHz networks.

Meanwhile, the device is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage variant based on UFS 3.1.

Speaking of cameras, with the Huawei Mate 40 Pro packs three main sensors at the rear which consist of a 50MP sensor with an f/1.9 aperture and an optical image stabilizer, a 20MP sensor for ultra-wide-angle shots with an f/1.8 aperture and a 5x zoom camera with 12MP resolution and f/3.4 maximum aperture size. Among other things, the camera system should be able to record 8K videos and offers a 5x physical magnification for zoom recordings. Whereas on the front, the device houses a 13MP camera with an f/2.4 aperture, which Huawei provides with a 3D ToF sensor. The notch located at the top of the display is also embedded with 3D face unlock and several 3D gesture support.

As per the leaks suggests, the device intends to draw its power from a 4400mAh battery. For its charging capabilities, the device might support a massive 66W charger as well as a 50W wireless SuperCharge adapter. Additionally, the device also supports reverse charging as seen on most of its predecessors.

Among other feature, the device also includes the likes of Stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6+, NFC, etc. Although they fell short with Android 10 which is based on EMUI 11.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro Plus: Specifications

Similarly, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro PLus too houses a 6.67″ OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate sampling. The device has an impressive 1344p resolution along with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. Its has an under-display fingerprint scanner like its sibling.

On the Chipset, it is powered by a similar HiSilicon Kirin 9000 based on 5nm architecture which is seen running on Android 10 which is based on EMUI 11.

Both of them are similar in almost every aspect, one of its difference lies with the cameras. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro PLus houses a penta cameras setup with 50MP sensor with an f/1.9 aperture and an optical image stabilizer, a 20MP sensor for ultra-wide-angle shots with an f/1.8 aperture, 10x zoom camera with 8MP resolution, a 3x zoom camera with 8MP resolution and f/3.4 maximum aperture size and a 3D ToF sensor. The camera system should be able to record 8K videos as well. Similarly, on the front, the device houses a 13MP camera with an f/2.4 aperture, which Huawei provides with a 3D ToF sensor. The notch located at the top of the display is also embedded with 3D face unlock and several 3D gesture support.

It houses the same 4400mAh battery. For its charging capabilities, the device might support a massive 66W charger as well as a 50W wireless SuperCharge adapter along with reverse charging.

Similarly, this device too gets to be paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage variant based on UFS 3.1. Among other feature, the device also includes the likes of Stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6+, NFC, etc. Although they fell short with Android 10 which is based on EMUI 11.
